FOLLOW LION IN THE WILD ON BLOGLOVIN'
As most of my lovely readers will already be aware, Google Reader is retiring from the World Wide Web in a couple of weeks, as part of Google's 'spring cleaning' initiative. But fear not! If you use Google Reader to follow Lion in the Wild, I highly recommend making the switch to Bloglovin'. I've personally been using Bloglovin' to follow my favourite blogs for years, even before Lion in the Wild existed. And just to make things a little easier for you, IFB have published a super helpful article on how to move your Google Reader RSS feed to Bloglovin'.

MAKEOVER
As you've no doubt already noticed, Lion in the Wild has had a much deserved makeover (thanks for all the love on Instagram!). I figured since I'm about to take the blog to the next level - you know, more frequent posts, a wider variety of topics and not to mention killer collaborations - it was high time to refresh the page and step forward with something new. There really is nothing like spring cleaning (or autumn cleaning?). I would love to know your thoughts on the revamped layout and the content you'd like to see more of on Lion in the Wild.
And what better way to celebrate the facelift than with a beauty post (oh so clever)? If you reside in Australia, you may want to stop reading right now to avoid a serious bout of envy. For the next paragraph I'm going to be raving on about the Urban Decay Naked Palettes, which are unfortunately not available 'down under' (can't say I didn't warn you). And while I'm sure one day they will be, I fear they'll probably cost an arm and a leg. The hype was hard to ignore when the first Naked palette was released overseas and subsequently completely sold out. And then luckily, as if by some miracle, I picked up the Naked 2 Palette whilst in Montreal late last year in no other than the beauty heaven that is Sephora. I was instantly blown away by the quality (and quantity!) of the eyeshadows. Come a very white Christmas in Mont-Tremblant, I was to have not one but two Urban Decay palettes thanks to a very generous gift from my girl Brooke.
I quickly realised how these two palettes would become a staple in my beauty bag after neglecting almost all of my existing eye shadows. What can I say? The warm neutral colours are all a natural redhead could ask for in a palette. However, a negative factor has recently come to light regarding the two palettes - I'm using them too quickly! And since I can't possibly purchase them locally or nationally, the only possible solution is to travel overseas for the sole purpose of stocking up on my absolute number one, mega favourite Naked Palettes. What a bummer (not)!

THE FLOOR-DROBE DILEMMA
Brad and I quickly snapped these shots between breakfast and splurging at the Apple store last week in the city. Before leaving home prior, I found myself sorting through the contents of my closet with not an idea of what to wear. Perhaps I should start planning my outfit ensemble the night before in order to avoid this mad rush, which more often than not turns my wardrobe into a floor-drobe. But then again, maybe not.
I have discovered however, that my boyfriend jeans have a magical ability to solve the 'what the heck am I going to wear' dilemma. Unfortunately boyfriend jeans can also have the opposite effect of lengthening on my petite 5"6 frame, therefore heels are always a must (unless I'm lazing about at home of course). While I was determined to wear said jeans that have appeared many a time here on Lion in the Wild, running all over town in super high stilettos isn't exactly practical. For such situations, it is highly recommended that you invest in a pair of the comfiest chic heels you can find (I scored my Wittner beauty's for a ridiculous bargain not so long ago). And while I could have easily trekked even further wearing these heels, later that night I was glad I didn't after locating two cringe-worthy blisters on both big toes (ouch!). So, I ask, was it worth it? Hell-to-the-yes!
PS. Brad and I finally saw The Great Gatsby at the cinema early last week, and while I've heard mixed reviews, I completely and utterly fell head-over-heels for the movie. I won't be surprised if it picks up a few Oscars, especially for Leonardo DeCaprio's depiction of Jay Gatsby (he has been my absolutely favourite actor for some time now). Definitely a must-see flick!
